Christopher Gibson has experience in all fields of professional negligence work, and the largest element in his work is now in the clinical negligence field. He is frequently instructed in cases involving injuries of maximum severity including, in particular, cases of cerebral palsy involving birth injuries to children where allegations are made in respect of obstetric and neonatal management. He also has experience of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder cases secondary to clinical negligence. His experience in costs cases has involved client/solicitor disputes appearing both for clients and solicitors; and in taxation disputes where he has represented both the paying party, and the receiving party. These have been high-value cases in which there have been allegations of a breach of the indemnity principle, and of systematic fraud in the creation of false attendance notes to bolster a bill in excess of £1M. He is also on the CFA committee of the Bar Council which, amongst other things, looks at the current contentious aspects of CFA costs matters. last updated January 2007 |
