Judith Farbey practices in public and administrative law. Her specialist immigration practice includes all aspects of Tier 2 and Tier 4 of the Points Based System for individual and corporate clients. She has developed a niche in sponsor licensing.
She has an extensive prison law practice and has appeared in numerous cases as a Special Advocate. Her work includes judicial review, civil claims involving public bodies and advisory work for clients seeking to avoid litigation. She undertakes cases raising European and international human rights law.

Before her legal training, Judith had a scholarship in Classics at Oxford University as an undergraduate and went on to win a Visiting Fellowship in Philosophy at the University of Princeton, New Jersey.
An experienced speaker, Judith has presented papers on public law and human rights issues in a variety of forums, including the London School of Economics International Human Rights Law and Practice course; the University of Sussex Centre for Responsibilities, Rights and the Law; and the University of Essex Refugee Care MA course. At the European level, she has spoken on human rights law at conferences organised by ECRE and the Council of Europe. In 2011, she contributed to a workshop on the Human Rights Act for the John Smith Memorial Trust's London Programme on Building a Rule of Law Leadership Network in the Middle East. As well as numerous journal articles, notable publications include: Judith Farbey & Robert J Sharpe 'The Law of Habeas Corpus' (3rd ed; OUP; Feb 2011). Judith is an active member of the Bar Law Reform Committee and is a Middle Temple advocacy trainer.

- Secretary of State for the Home Department v MB [2006] HRLR 37, the first control order case to be heard in the High Court
- MT (Algeria) v Secretary of State for the Home Department [2008] 2 WLR 159 on deportation on grounds of national security
- AS & DD (Libya) v Secretary of State for the Home Department [2008] EWCA Civ 289
- Re T (Wardship: Impact of Police Intelligence) [2010] 1 FLR 1048
- R (on the application of English UK Ltd) v Secretary of State for the Home Department [2010] EWHC 1726 (Admin).
She was the first winner of the Bar Pro Bono Award in 1997. In 2011 she was appointed as the Lead Assistant Boundary Commissioner for the London Region
