 Tim Pullen

Tim Pullen practises in all aspects of employment law. Recent cases have concerned sex, race and disability discrimination, unfair and wrongful dismissal, contractual disputes, Transfer and Undertakings, European Community Law, unlawful deduction from wages, and the Working Time Regulations.

He appears at both tribunal and appellate level. Tim regularly represents trade union members including those of Unison, the GMB, Bectu, Napo and the NUJ and has particular experience of cases involving victimisation of trade union members and officials by employers.

Recent cases of interest include Panama v London Borough of Hackney (where the Court of Appeal clarified the role of 'the Burchill Test' in assessing gloss in Unfair Dismissal claims), Rogan v Devon & Cornwall Probation Service (senior trade union official victimised by employer), Waddington and Others v Wigan MBC (interpretation of local government terms and conditions of employment and contractual dispute on behalf of nearly 500 Claimants) and Davies v MJ Wyatt (Decorators) Ltd (EAT decision on the application of the Working Time Regulations).

Tim also practises in housing law and the Law of landlord and Tenant. Prior to coming to the Bar he worked as an advice worker and tribunal representative for the Greater London Citizens Advice Bureaux Service.
