Tublu Mukherjee is currently on a two-year sabbatical in India. Tublu Mukherjee (year of call 1996) is a barrister at Doughty Street Chambers and has represented claimants at all levels to the House of Lords. He has a particular interest in Article 8 and expulsion and has also recently started practising in civil actions against the police and the immigration authorities. He has contributed to periodicals and updates on human rights law, has been a trustee and then chair of Asylum Aid, a charity representing asylum seekers and is named in both the legal experts 2004 and the Legal 500. His notable cases include R (Razgar) v SSHD HL (on health and welfare and expulsion); R (Dahmas) v SSHD CA (FC3 1999/6212/C) (perversity of asylum decision in third country making it unsafe for removal); R (Shillova) v SSHD (2002) INLR 611 (recommendations and substantive decisions on human rights claims); R (Atabaky) v SSHD [2002] EWCA Civ 234 (certification and discretion on judicial review). |
