African Court delivers landmark ruling on criminal libel

Lohé Issa Konaté, who edits the newspaper L’Ouragan (’the Hurricane’), represented by John RWD Jones QC as part of the Media Defence Legal Initiative (MDLI) legal team, has won his case on criminal libel before the African Court of Human Rights in the Court's first Judgment on freedom of speech.
