Amos Waldman acted on behalf of defendant sentenced for Participating in a Fraudulent Business involving the sale of teeth whitening products contrary to S9 Fraud Act 2006

John Hargreaves admitted his 'leading' role in the businesses, which the crown asserted, had operated over a period of 8 years. The crown contended that, on a conservative estimate, they had received approximately £3.4m. Having received oral and written submissions, the Learned Judge could not be satisfied as to the precise level of profit. He also accepted that the Sentencing Guidelines for Fraud offences were not directly applicable. He imposed a sentence of 18 months imprisonment.
