Autistic Chelsea FC fan Escapes Court Ban

David Hislop QC today represented a young Chelsea Football Fan who faced a minimum ban of three years from attending any regulated football match in the UK and Europe. Chelsea fans from around the world sent emails and tweets of support in their thousands. Together with that support, the support of the Chelsea Supporters Trust and the Football Supporters Federation the court today was persuaded to conditionally discharge our young fan for six months and no ban was imposed.

 

The fight now continues to have overturned a ban imposed by the Chelsea Football Club for breach of their internal regulations which is quite distinct from those which can be imposed by the criminal courts.
