Coroner agrees to extend the scope of the inquest into the death of Elliott Johnson

HM Senior Coroner for Bedfordshire and Luton has today issued a ruling accepting submissions made by Heather Williams QC on behalf of Elliott’s family that the scope of the inquest into his death should be extended to include the circumstances in which Elliott lost his job with Conservative Way Forward; Elliott’s complaint about his treatment by Mark Clarke on 12 August 2015; and Elliott’s subsequent actions that lead to his death.  However, the Coroner decided it was not necessary for him to hear evidence from either Mark Clarke or Andre Walker.
