Delivering investment treaty arbitration training to African lawyers in London and Tanzania

In September 2016, Emilie Gonin will be delivering training in the field of investment treaty arbitration to African lawyers in London and Tanzania. 

The London training is organised by Africa International Legal Awareness. Attendees will include Government lawyers, treaty negotiators and lawyers in private practice who regularly deal with investment treaty arbitration. Trainers are well known arbitration practitioners from leading arbitration practices and chambers.  Emilie Gonin’s presentation will focus on the definition of “investment” and “investor”. The Tanzania event is a training event as well as a conference on  "Investment Promotion and Protection in the EAC: Trends and Prospects". It is co-organised by Africa International Legal Awareness and University of Geneva. The keynote speech will be given by Chief Justice Mohamed Chande Othman. Speakers include leading arbitration practitioners, academics and members of international organisations. Emilie Gonin’s presentation will focus on the questions of jurisdiction and admissibility in investment treaty arbitration. More information is available here
