Doughty Street barristers condemn UAE detention and torture of lawyers

Some of the UK's most senior lawyers have signed an open letter in the Law Society Gazette condemning the imprisonment and torture of members of the legal establishment in the UAE.  Ten Doughty Street barristers, including four leading QCs, are signatories to the letter. They support the findings of the UN Special Rapporteur on the Independence of Judges and Lawyers, and they call for the quashing of the lawyers' convictions and their immediate and unconditional release.
