Elliott Johnson’s family seek a wider inquest

Heather Williams QC, instructed by Deighton Pierce Glynn,  represented the family of Elliott Johnson deceased at a Pre-Inquest Review Hearing at the Bedfordshire and Luton Coroner’s Court today.  She argued that the scope of the Inquest hearing should be widened so that the Coroner investigated the events leading up to Elliott’s death on 15 September 2015, focusing in particular on the bullying by Mark Clarke and his associates, the complaint Elliott made to Conservative Party Headquarters and the pressure he was put under to withdraw it and his dismissal from his employment with Conservative Way Forward. For further details of the argument put forward to the Court please see here.
