Following a national competition Nick Stanage has been appointed to the panel of part-time legally-qualified chairs of police misconduct hearings.

Changes announced by the Home Secretary mean that police misconduct hearings which deal with cases of serious misconduct under the Police Conduct Regulations 2012 will be held in public and from 1 January 2016 will be chaired by an independent legally-qualified chair rather than, as previously, a chief police officer.
