High Court Reviews the Procedure of applying for Draconian Orders Without a Hearing

Rupert Bowers QC instructed by Hodge, Jones and Allen appeared in the first case to address the process whereby Property Freezing Orders under POCA 2002 are applied for ex parte on the papers. Mr Justice Edis was critical of the procedure which applies to PFO's Disclosure Orders and Restraint Orders. The judgment is likely to herald a wide scale change in practice.
