Joe Middleton has been nominated for the 2015 Sydney Elland Goldsmith Bar Pro Bono Award. The nomination arises from years of pro bono litigation on the death penalty in Commonwealth Africa, in particular his work on constitutional challenges to the mandatory death penalty in Ghana, Kenya, Malawi and Uganda.  The winner of the award will be announced by the Chairman of the Bar, Alistair Macdonald QC, at the Bar and Young Bar Conference on 17 October.
