Lessons from Neary

Oscar Wilde said "experience is the name everyone gives to their mistakes". On 1st December Stephen Reeder presented a detailed exegesis of the mistakes made by the authorities in the case of Hillingdon LBC v Steven & Mark Neary [2011] EWHC 1377 (CoP) as part of the Butterworths Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards Conference 2011 in London. Ulele Burnham completed the presentations with a session on Human Rights Act breaches and claims for damages under the MCA 2005.
