Privy Council tightens rules for police “expert” witnesses

In the joined Bermuda appeals of Myers, Brangman and Cox [(2015) UKPC 40] the Privy Council gave guidance about the need for proper disclosure and the limits on the use of hearsay by police officers giving expert evidence about gangs. Joel Bennathan QC acted for Brangman.
