Today will see the GMB Union seek compensation for 70 of its members who claim they were blacklisted by construction firms and unable to gain employment in the construction industry.

Claims for conspiracy to use unlawful means are being brought against Sir Robert McAlpine and Carrillion for the blacklisting of construction workers, while claims in defamation are being brought against Balfour Beatty and other companies which published libellous allegations about construction workers on the blacklist.

The Union members are represented by Guy Vassall-Adams and Ben Silverstone of Doughty Street Chambers.
