Zia Nabi instructed by Mike McIlvaney of the Community Law Partnership secures over £48,000 damages for disrepair for vulnerable tenant

After a contested trial, lasting two days, HHJ Lopez ordered the landlord to pay his former tenant over £48,000 for disrepair for having to live in appalling conditions. Damages were awarded at 80% of the rent over a period of 10.5 years. The landlord’s application to amend on the morning of the trial to plead limitation was refused.
