Doughty Street Chambers
www.doughtystreet.co.uk / enquiries@doughtystreet.co.uk
Chambers tries to offer a well rounded work experience, which is made up of visiting courts primarily, with some group activities, administrative support and, dependent upon availability, the opportunity to speak to several barristers about the reality of life at the Bar.
Applications should be made by no later than February 28th of the year in which you wish to undertake work experience. Please note our programme runs from the third full week of June, until the last week of July. If you have requested a placement outside of this timescale, it is unlikely we will be able to accommodate, but we will of course do our best.
To apply please either complete the form on your PC or print it off and complete the pdf version of the form. Please submit your form to us either by e mail to m.parnell@doughtystreet.co.uk or by post to the address on our contact us page. You must also include your Equal Opportunities Monitoring Form, which is explained further on the application form.
You will recieve an e mail acknowledgement of your application.
Once the application process has closed candidates will be selected at random from the applications we have received. It therefore makes no difference as to whether you apply the day the process opens, or the day before the deadline, so please do not rush.
You will be advised by 31st March 2012 as to whether your application was successful or not, and further joining instructions will be provided.
The information you have supplied will be kept confidentially within the administration team until the application process is complete. If your application is successful, relevant information may be shared with barristers you are shadowing. If you are not successful, your details will be kept on file for a period of 6 months and then destroyed securely.
Doughty Street Chambers operates an Equal Opportunities Policy, in accordance with the Equality Act 2010. A copy of our policy is available on request.
Should you have any queries, please do not hesitate to contact us on the above e mail address, or alternatively to our Head of Facilities on s.earl@doughtystreet.co.uk.
