Overview

Claire has represented clients in the County Court, the High Court, and the Supreme Court. She has also acted in ECtHR and international media cases. She acts for both claimants and defendants, including high-profile individuals, award-winning investigative journalists and national and international media organisations.

Claire has particular experience of acting for media organisations challenging reporting restrictions. She has appeared on their behalf in the criminal courts, the Employment Tribunal, coroners’ courts, family courts and the Court of Protection. In addition, she has significant experience of providing pre-publication legal and Ofcom advice to publishing houses, television and film production companies, and a range of print and broadcast media organisations.

In 2018, Claire was awarded a Pegasus Scholarship to participate in the Paris Bar Exchange. She spent one month with the media and information team at leading French law firm, Herald. She is a contributor to Arlidge, Eady & Smith on Contempt, 5th edition, first supplement.
