Paul Harvey has been an Associate Tenant at Doughty Street since 2014.

He practices in both England and Wales and in Scotland in the fields of public law, family law, and criminal law (including extradition).

He is currently serving as an Advocate Depute in Scotland prosecuting serious crime, particularly serious sexual offences, in the High Court of Justiciary.

Previously, he worked for ten years as a lawyer at the European Court of Human Rights.

He is the co-author (with Helen Whitwell, Katy Thorne KC and Sacha Kolar) of the seventh edition of Mason’s Forensic Medicine for Lawyers.

He continues to teach and write on the subject of human rights, and to deliver human rights training to lawyers across Europe, particularly through the Council of Europe Human Rights Education for Legal Professionals (HELP) programme.
