Immigration - Business and Commercial

Practice Summary

The immigration team provides advice, representation and advocacy across the board of business, commercial and employment migration.

We offer a service both to individual and corporate clients with an emphasis on speed, quality and value for money. We regularly advise high net worth individuals and entrepreneurs seeking to invest or set up business in the UK under Tier 1 of the Points Based System (PBS) and employers and employees on employment and intra-company transfers under Tier 2.

Members of the team give regular advice to Tier 2 and Tier 4 sponsors.  We have been at the forefront of litigation in cases involving the suspension or revocation of Tier 4 sponsor licences, including English UK’s successful challenge to changes in the Tier 4 Sponsor Guidance.

We advise on compliance issues in cases where employers face civil penalties for the employment of migrants alleged to have no permission to work.

Members of the team write on business and corporate migration in some of the leading legal texts, including Butterworths Immigration Law Service  and  Immigration Law and Practice. We frequently give seminars and training to solicitors and other practitioners on business immigration, sponsorship and related topics.

Several members of the team are registered as public access barristers and in appropriate cases can act for clients directly without the intervention of a solicitor. Please contact one of the clerking team for details.
