International Law Know-How Roundtable Sessions
Roundtable Session on ' Non-Party Interventions in Investment Arbitration Proceedings' - 21 March 2025
On Friday 21 March 2025, Doughty Street International hosted its inaugural Public International Law Know-How Roundtable with esteemed practitioners and stakeholders from the City of London.
The Know-How Roundtable centred on non-disputing party interventions in investment arbitration proceedings, an area that has experienced significant growth in recent years. The escalating global incidence of conflicts, environmental degradation, and the erosion of the rule of law has necessitated the increasing prominence of interventions/amicus curiae or expert advice to parties considering the rights and interests of third parties in their disputes.
We were honoured to have Nicolas Angelet deliver a keynote address, and colleagues Tatyana Eatwell, Aarif Abraham, and Camila Zapata Besso make insightful expert interventions.
The primary objective of these sessions is for practitioners to stay informed about the latest developments in the field and facilitate discussion among selected guests over breakfast.
The Know-How Note for the session on 21 March 21 2025, is available here.

Roundtable Session on 'Immunities under international law' - 18th September 2025
On Thursday 18th September 2025 Doughty Street International hosted its second roundtable session with esteemed practitioners and stakeholders from the City of London.
This second roundtable explored the renewed focus on immunities in international law. Discussions addressed the implications of International Criminal Court arrest warrants for President Putin and Prime Minister Netanyahu, and questions regarding the scope of functional immunity and its application to State spies, hackers and assassins. The panel also considered the scope of INTERPOL’s immunities and its internal remedial mechanisms.
The roundtable was chaired by Tatyana Eatwell, with contributions from Alex Tinsley, Max du Plessis SC and Professor Marko Milanovic, who has recently joined Doughty Street Chambers as an academic expert, joined the discussion virtually.
