Doughty Street Chambers hosted a webinar on the 28 July, where members of Chambers analysed the International Court of Justice's landmark advisory opinion on climate change, handed down on 23 July 2025.
Members of Chambers instructed by States in the proceedings presented their analysis of what the case means for the future of domestic, regional and international climate litigation. The ICJ's decision has been hailed as a landmark moment in the fight for climate justice with far-reaching implications for States and corporations alike.
Harj Narulla, Counsel for Solomon Islands in the proceedings, chaired the panel and presented an analysis alongside Nicolas Angelet, Counsel for the Democratic Republic of Congo and Jennifer Robinson, Counsel for Vanuatu and the Marshall Islands. Read more here.
