Supported accommodation Part 2:
Security of Tenure and Possession Claims
11 June 2026 | 18:00 - 19:30, followed by a drinks reception | Doughty Street Chambers
Join the Housing and Social Welfare Team for the final instalment of our two-part seminar series on supported accommodation. In this session we will be focusing on what practitioners need to know to defend possession claims for those in supported accommodation. We will discuss the different definitions of supported accommodation, the new grounds for possession brought in by the Renters’ Rights Act 2025 and to what extent these will affect the possession process in reality, and work through some common scenarios that crop up in practice. The seminar will be followed by a Q&A and a drinks reception.
Speakers include:
- Zia Nabi (Chair), Barrister at Doughty Street Chambers
- Dominic Preston, Barrister at Doughty Street Chambers
- Marie Paris, Barrister at Doughty Street Chambers
