Civil Practice Manager

We are seeking to appoint a Civil Practice Manager in our busy Civil Clerking team headed by Sian Wilkins. The successful candidate will be someone with at least 5 years’ experience at a similar level. You will be someone with an excellent understanding of practice development, preferably have experience in clerking Inquests and Actions Against Police, with good people skills and a good track record in motivating and developing junior team members.

Personal Assistant/Researcher to Edward Fitzgerald QC

Edward Fitzgerald QC is the Joint Head of Doughty Street Chambers and is a leading practitioner in extradition, criminal law, human rights and international criminal law. He is looking for a PA/Researcher to start on 10th December 2018. The role is offered on a full time, self-employed basis at £33,000-36,000 depending on experience, with generous holidays.

The post would suit someone who has completed a law degree or similar training. Edward would ideally like someone to fill the role for a year or longer.

The post holder is expected to assist with preparation of cases, which will include legal research, production of bundles and liaising with instructing solicitors and junior counsel and Mr Fitzgerald’s clerks.

You will also be expected to deal with Mr Fitzgerald’s personal finance as well as assist with providing documents for internal meetings.
