Doughty Street welcomes back founding member Nick Paul

Doughty Street is delighted to wecome back Nick Paul to chambers. Nick was a founding member of Doughty Street in 1990 and has returned after having worked at the Crown Prosecution Service in the Special Crime Division where he was a Senior Crown Advocate. 

The Unit deals with high profile and senstive cases and covers areas such as corruption, election offences, corporate and medical manslaughter. Nick focussed on Police corruption and misconduct in a public office. He advised the Independent Police Complaints Commission and personally prosecuted high profile cases of police corruption and police misconduct as well as handling other sensitive cases involving senior public authority officers.

He supervisied corporate and medical manslaughter investigations and has considerable experience of coroners' court proceedings. He was also responsible for advising the Police in respect of covert investigations in respect of domestic extremisim cases and developed a close working knowledge of RIPA.
