Expert Panel on Current Trends in International Criminal Justice

Yesterday, 22 May 2014, Amal Alamuddin joined a distinguished panel of experts at a seminar on "Current Trends in International Criminal Justice: Courts, Cases and the Rule of Law", which was held at the British Institute for International and Comparative Law. 


The panel discussion was chaired by Rodney Dixon QC of Temple Garden Chambers.


Joining Amal Alamuddin on the panel were:

Professor Olympia Bekou, professor of Public International Law at the University of Nottingham

Federica Gioia, Legal Officer at the International Criminal Court

Iain MacLeod, Legal Advisor with the Foreign and Commonwealth Office.


The evening also served as the launch of the recently published book entitled "Contemporary Challenges for the International Criminal Court" in which Amal Alamuddin authored a chapter on the role of the UN Security Council in starting and stopping cases at the International Criminal Court.
