Harriet Johnson, instructed by the Women’s Equality Party, has successfully opposed the application for a Sexual Entertainment Venue Licence in Sheffield.  Rockwave Leisure, trading as Villa Mercedes Ltd, had applied for an SEV licence in a prominent Sheffield thoroughfare.  The proposed site was adjacent to a number of facilities aimed to support young people and victims of sexual violence.  At the close of evidence, having heard Harriet’s submissions, the applicant asked for a short adjournment before abandoning the application.

Coverage of the hearing can be found here.
