Noble cause terrorism? Appeal allowed but questions remain

The Court of Appeal today gave judgment in the sentence appeals of Mohammed Ahmed and Yusuf Sarwar. While allowing the appeal and reducing the sentences on the basis of the sentencing judge's errors, the Court declined to agree that the fact these young men were working for the Free Syrian Army and not targeting civilians was mitigation. The Court's decision on an application to take the issue to the Supreme Court is awaited.
