Sara Williams successfully defends man accused of knife crime

01.06.15 | |

FO was charged with affray and possession of an offensive weapon.  It was alleged that he was involved in a heated argument outside his home address, culminating in him chasing a 12 year-old boy and his father with a knife, threatening to kill them.  His defence was simply that the complainant and eye-witness were lying, that there was no knife and that the complainant had started the argument.  The defendant’s previous convictions went before the jury, including a conviction for a similar s.4 public order offence.

The jury took just 30 minutes to find the Defendant not guilty of both charges.

Sara was instructed by Macnab Clarke Solicitors.
