On 20 October 2015, District Judge Barrie refused to order the surrender of a woman whose extradition was sought by the Slovak Republic for the a confidence fraud worth approximately EUR 50,000. The judge found that extradition would be a disproportionate interference with the private and family life rights of the requested person and her four young children, as protected by Article 8 of the European Convention on Human Rights, despite the continued presence of her husband, who is also the father of the children.

Graeme Hall represented the requested person, and was instructed by Kevin Kendridge of JD Spicer Zeb.
