UK launch of the Handbook on European law relating to asylum, borders and immigration

Monday 23 September saw the UK launch of the European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights and the European Court of Human Rights Handbook on European law relating to asylum, borders and immigration, June 2013 (written by Nuala Mole, Founder of the AIRE Centre, Maryam Akhavan-Tabib, Coram Chambers and Catherine Meredith, Doughty Street Chambers).

"The handbook is the first comprehensive guide to European law in this particular field" and "covers an area of EU law which is not only complex, but is also rapidly changing." (FRA Director, Morten Kjaerum, at the Strasbourg launch).

The event was chaired by Mr Justice Blake with key speeches from Judith Farbey QC and Raza Husain QC. Nuala Mole  and Catherine Meredith presented the aims of the handbook and spoke about some of the future questions falling for determination at European and domestic level.

The handbook is free to download or order from FRA
