Rachel specialises in medical and healthcare litigation, having completed a specialised Health and Human Rights pupillage. She regularly acts in Court of Protection matters relating to health and welfare, instructed on behalf of P (via their litigation friends, including the Official Solicitor), family members and local authorities. Rachel has acted for parties in cases concerning complex medical issues and has significant experience of high-value clinical negligence and personal injury claims, with a particular focus on cases involving traumatic brain injuries. She is regularly instructed to appear on behalf of families in inquests following deaths in clinical settings, following discharge from section under the Mental Health Act and for minors under the care of community mental health teams. She has represented claimants who lack mental capacity, are recently bereaved, and minors.
