Tim Moloney QC and Shu Shin Luh shortlisted for the Chambers UK Bar Awards 2021

Doughty Street Chambers is delighted to announce that both Tim Moloney QC and Shu Shin Luh have been shortlisted in the forthcoming Chambers UK Bar Awards 2021.

Earlier this year, Tim Moloney QC (shortlisted for Crime Silk of the Year) acted as lead counsel for appellants in the landmark Post Office workers miscarriage of justice case, in which the Court of Appeal held that the prosecution of sub-post masters by Post Office Limited between 2003 and 2013 was an abuse of process, quashing the convictions of 39 sub-post masters and those of a further twelve.

Shu Shin Luh (shortlisted for Human Rights and Public Law Junior of the Year) represented claimants in the successful challenge to the Home Secretary’s decision to use Napier Barracks to accommodate destitute asylum seeking men. The High Court’s damning judgment deemed the decision was unlawful and irrational, with arrangements and conditions that fundamentally posed significant risks to physical and mental health.

The Chambers & Partners UK Bar Awards are based on research for the 2022 edition of Chambers UK Bar Guide and reflect notable achievements over the past 12 months including outstanding work, impressive strategic growth and excellence in client service.

The full shortlist can be found here with the award ceremony taking place on Thursday 18 November in London.
