To mark World Refugee Day (20 June 2016), Doughty Street Chambers invite you to a screening of Welcome to Refugeestan, followed by a panel discussion.


Welcome to Refugeestan is a documentary by Anne Poiret, a French award winning film director and investigative journalist. It highlights the plight of almost 17 million refugees, displaced persons and migrants (a population the size of the Netherlands) living in camps across the globe. Themes include the management of humanitarian concerns in camps and the desire of rich countries to prevent access to the asylum space.


The screening will be followed by a 45 minute discussion with:
