Hoarders represent a considerable problem for landlords who see them both as a nuisance and a danger to their property and to residents.

Stephen Reeder, Dominic Preston and Ragani Lindquist (Official Solicitor’s Office) analyse the alternatives to eviction that landlords can use and consider how to force landlords into using those alternatives, how capacity issues can assist in that process and how the jurisdiction of the Court of Protection can be brought into play. The seminar aims to highlight what is needed both in the County Court and the Court of Protection and intends to provide a guide to the law relating to capacity and to the rules, practice and culture of the Court of Protection.
