Doughty Street Chambers are delighted to invite you to this seminar ‘The Court of Protection Transparency Pilot: Are you ready?’ on  Thursday 28th January 2016.

The Court of Protection is about to begin a pilot which will reverse the default position that cases are heard in private.  Instead all cases will normally be heard in public, with restrictions to preserve the anonymity of the people involved.

This practical seminar will help you prepare for this radical change.

  • What will the pilot mean for my cases?
  • How will the pilot be assessed?
  • What if my client wants a private hearing?
  • I don’t have higher rights- can I still appear in court?
  • What is a RRO?
  • What does caselaw tell us about reporting by the media

Chair: Ulele Burnham

Aswini Weereratne QC and  Sophy Miles
