• Assessing the family now and in the medium to long term, including issues relating to attachment and trauma.

• Article 8 ECHR in the context of children and extradition.  

• How best to critically explore mitigating and aggravating factors applicable across the family.

• Relevant professional qualifications for assessor.

• Instructions and necessary documentation, including understanding the context of the case and choosing the most appropriate expert.

• Third party liaison (e.g. schools, Local Authority input, medica and wider family).

• Assessment logistics – dos, don’ts and interpreters.

• Ensuring parental responsibility / child arrangements and exploring support networks abroad.

• Advice to those who may be left behind and the safety net around children.

• Brexit and deportation.
