Court of Appeal grants leave to appeal against conviction

Farrhat Arshad KC represented KG, a former solicitor, who had been convicted of fraud and converting criminal property in 2020. Farrhat acted as fresh counsel on appeal and argued that there had been a material misdirection in KG’s trial.  Leave having been refused by the single judge, the application was renewed to the Full Court (Green LJ, Cheema-Grubb J and HHJ Lickley KC) who granted an extension of time of two years and leave to Appeal. The Full Appeal will be heard later in the year.
