Gemma acts for all parties in Court of Protection proceedings in the full gamut of health and welfare matters. She receives regular instructions from the Official Solicitor and other litigation friends,  family members, local authorities and CCGs. She has represented parties in contested COVID-19 vaccination cases (Royal Borough of Greenwich v IOSK (by his litigation friend, the Official Solicitor) & NK & MOK [2021] EWCOP 65), covert medication and DNAR disputes. Gemma has experience acting for parties in cases involving complex medical issues such as disorders of consciousness, percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy, tracheostomy, and acquired brain injuries.   

Gemma is a co-author, with Sophy Miles and Mary-Rachel McCabe, of the Legal Action magazine Court of Protection updates.
