Renewed impetus on the UK Genocide Determination Bill and atrocity prevention

Baroness Helena Kennedy LT KC, and Aarif Abraham together with Lord David Alton have set out some reflections, in an Op-Ed for Project Syndicate, on the Genocide Determination Bill 2023-24 (Bill) and the UK Government’s current approach to mass atrocity prevention, available here.

The Op-Ed comes on the back of a public letter sent to the UK Prime Minister, Rishi Sunak, and Foreign Secretary, Lord David Cameron, on 15 April 2024 by prominent international lawyers and academics as well as, heads of international NGOs, and cross-party UK Parliamentarians. Several of Doughty Street International’s members have signed the letter.
