Unanimous manslaughter acquittal at Isleworth Crown Court for David Bentley KC’s client

BA had been alleged to be the driver for a planned “ride-out” in West London with a submachine gun. The plan was said to have been aborted when the gun accidentally went off – killing the front seat passenger. Thereafter BA was alleged to have been involved in a hurriedly hatched cover up operation. After a trial lasting several weeks, BA was acquitted of all charges – manslaughter, possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life, possession of a silencer and perverting the course of public justice.

David Bentley KC led Tom Nicholson of 2 Harcourt Buildings and was instructed by James O’Hara at Imran Khan & Partners.
