Education Case Law Update

Thursday 7th March 2024 |14:00 -15:00

Education is often the most important state service in the life of vulnerable children and young people, please join our Education Team for a webinar discussing the complexities of education law and to hear more about the recent updates in case law.

We will be joined by our Education Team Leader Nick Bowen KC who will cover education negligence issues, having acted in most of the leading cases in this complex field.

Louise Price will provide a case law update on special educational needs (SEN). She will look at a number of recent UT and judicial reviews cases concerning SEN provision, including the most recent decisions regarding the right of education under A1P2.

Lameesa Iqbal will explore post-16 education/higher education, including the complex web of duties owed to disabled young people in transition to adulthood. Lameesa brings extensive discrimination law experience, having represented families facing disability discrimination in the First-Tier Tribunal (Special Educational Needs and Disability) in her roles as an education law paralegal and Senior Director of the School Exclusion Project.

For more information about our specialist education barristers please contact Callum Stebbing or Rachel Finch from our practice management team.

We hope you can join us on 7th March!
