Key to Chambers’ winning entry was our diversity collateral and initiatives as evidenced by our diversity data, demonstrating our significant progress in identifying, recruiting and retaining high quality candidates from a diverse applicant pool among staff and barristers.
Attending the glittering finalists’ awards ceremony with the Doughty Street team to collect the award on behalf of chambers as co-head of the Equality, Diversity and Wellbeing overarching strategy committee Henrietta Hill QC said,
“We are thrilled to win this award as a valued endorsement of our commitment to promoting equality, diversity and inclusion values throughout every aspect of our business (staffing, recruitment, member composition, pupillage etc) and among our peers in the wider profession. However we will not rest on our laurels and know that there is more to be done: we remain firmly committed to taking positive steps to challenge the stereotype of what a barrister looks and sounds like”.

In November 2021, Shu Shin Luh was awarded Human Rights and Public Law Junior of the Year at Chambers UK Bar Awards 2021.

In November 2020, Jude Bunting was awarded Human Rights and Public Law Junior of the Year at Chambers and Partners UK Bar Awards 2020.
In November 2020, Jude Bunting was awarded Human Rights and Public Law Junior of the Year at Chambers and Partners UK Bar Awards 2020.
Earlier this year Jude acted for Emily Hunt in the Court of Appeal, as part of her challenge to the Crown Prosecution Service’s decision not to prosecute a man who filmed her naked. The court ruled that doing so without consent is voyeurism. That man has since been prosecuted and sentenced. Emily’s inspiring campaign has been widely reported.
This is just one small example of the incredibly important and novel work that Jude undertakes. In the last year, he has set important new precedents in protest law, open justice, and on the rule of law in Northern Ireland. He was the “lawyer of the week” in The Times and the “public law junior of the year” in the Legal 500 awards. Feedback comments on how “Thoroughly impressive and detailed in his analysis” Jude is, and he is and if often described by clients as “extremely intelligent, and a phenomenal advocate.” His practice is multi-faceted, but entirely committed to access to justice. Jude is an expert in public law and media law and is undoubtedly the leading junior in cases involving open justice.”
