Doughty Street Chambers and Oxford University Press warmly invite you to celebrate the publication of HATE: Why We Should Resist it With Free Speech, Not Censorship by Nadine Strossen.

The book launch will begin with an introduction by Geoffrey Robertson QC, who will introduce the book's author, Professor Nadine Strossen of New York Law School. She is a former President of the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), and was the first woman and youngest person ever to lead the organisation. Nadine will then discuss issues and ideas addressed in this groundbreaking book on ‘hate speech’ and freedom of expression.  We're particularly delighted to welcome back Professor Strossen who gave one of our earliest Doughty Street Lectures in the 1990's soon after our foundation.

Jonathan Price of Doughty Street Chambers’ Media Team will provide a response, with a particular focus on hate speech and free speech in the UK.  Drinks and nibbles will be provided.
