Key developments in homelessness

Martin Westgate KC and Joshua Jackson will be talking about key recent developments in homelessness. They will review homelessness cases in the last year, focusing on key themes arising from recent decisions and the current political and funding environment. Martin and Josh will cover topics including local authorities’ housing needs assessment and process duties, how they relate to suitability decisions and reviews, the issue of alternative remedies and deciding the appropriate forum to challenge decisions/assessments, as well as recent cases involving the Equality Act, intentional homelessness, repeat applications, and eligibility for assistance.
The seminar will be chaired by Sarah Steinhardt.
