Aarif Abraham appointed to Trustee Board of St Ethelburga’s Centre for Reconciliation and Peace

Doughty Street Chambers is delighted to announce that Aarif Abraham has been appointed, by way of co-option, to the Board of Trustees of St Ethelburga’s Centre for Reconciliation an Peace

St Ethelburga's is a non-profit charity which aims to build relationships across divisions of conflict, culture and religion. It is considered as a ‘maker of peacemakers’ by equipping and inspiring people to become peacemakers in their own contexts. Its work sits at the intersection of climate and peace, through stimulating the growth of climate-resilient and conflict-resilient communities. St Ethelburga’s was destroyed by an IRA bomb in 1993 and resurrected as a centre for reconciliation and peace in 2002, as a symbol of hope.

Aarif’s responsibilities, as a co-opted Trustee, include advising St Ethelburga’s on strategic direction and development, funding, and charity regulations. His appointment comes on the back of his longstanding work on conflict-resolution and peacebuilding including provision of advice on transitional justice issues in several situations of international concern.
