Amanda Clift-Matthews, Yvonne Kramo and Laura Stockdale join Doughty Street Chambers

We are thrilled to announce that Amanda Clift-Matthews, Yvonne Kramo and Laura Stockdale have joined Doughty Street Chambers.

Amanda Clift-Matthews is an experienced appellate practitioner specialising in criminal law and human rights, with a particular emphasis on capital cases and miscarriages of justice. Former Legal Director and in-house counsel for the Death Penalty Project, Amanda has represented individuals facing a death sentence throughout the Caribbean, Asia and Africa, including before the Judicial Committee of the Privy Council.

Yvonne Kramo is a criminal defence practitioner who is instructed in cases covering all aspects of criminal law, often achieving successful outcomes for her clients against the odds. She has developed a busy practice acting on behalf of individuals facing a wide range of allegations in criminal courts across the country, including the Court of Appeal.

Laura was a pupil barrister at QEB Hollis Whiteman where she represented clients in the Magistrates', Youth and Crown Courts. She also represented a client subject to professional misconduct proceedings before the Financial Conduct Authority and presented cases on behalf of the Nursing and Midwifery Council. Laura came to the Bar after a successful career as a solicitor at the Department of Public Prosecutions (DPP) in Sydney, Australia. There, she acted as junior counsel in numerous trials, including fraud, death by dangerous driving, rape and sexual assault.
