Ben Chataway appointed District Judge

Doughty Street Chambers is delighted to announce that Ben Chataway has been appointed a District Judge on the advice of the Lord Chancellor, the Right Honourable Dominic Raab MP and the Lord Chief Justice of England and Wales, the Right Honourable The Lord Burnett of Maldon.

The Lord Chief Justice has deployed Ben to the South Eastern Circuit, based at Reading County Court with effect from Monday 9 January 2023.

Ben was appointed to the Bar in 1995 and spent 13 years as a solicitor before joining chambers in 2010. At Doughty Street, Ben provided expert advice and representation across a wide range of public and property law issues. He specialised in working for clients who lack mental capacity or who are otherwise vulnerable.
